Funky fudge
If there is one thing I love to bits and could eat 'til death it is FUDGE! I have tried many times to make this myself with the easiest recipes ever and have always landed up with a classic bowl of sugar...
In one of my favourite mags ever they blessed me with the recipe once and for all. I will try this and have a good strong feeling it will be the one!
Ingredients:
115g Butter
15ml Golden Syrup
30ml Milk
750ml Castor Sugar
1 Can of Condensed Milk
5ml Vanilla Essence
Pinch of Cream of Tartar
1. Melt butter, syrup, milk and 15ml of water together in a heavy based pot.
2. Remove the pot from the heat and then add the castor sugar. Place back onto the heat and bring to the boil. Boil, stirring for 5 minutes.
3. Remove from the stove and leave to cool. Pour the condensed milk into the mixture in a steady stream whilst stirring.
4. Return to the heat and cook over a lower heat for another 15 minutes. Stir continuously.
5. You will know that the mixture is ready once it turns golden brown and has reached a full firm stage. Now stir in the vanilla essence and cream of tartar.
* To test if it is ready, drop a spoonful of mixture into a bowl of water and if it goes firm then it is ready.
6. Pour the mixture into a greased and lined tin and leave to set. Cut however you wish and store until completely firm.
I cannot wait! Thank you so much, Ideas.
