House & Garden Show

Yippee! The East Coast Radio House & Garden show starts today in Durban :) Here are the details:

I will be going on Monday & look so forward to seeing some new innovative home ideas and some wonderful garden treats! Also so keen for the Homegrown Fair that was started at last years show!

A Little DIY

Yesterday I finally got cracking on painting the stools in our kitchen and am so happy with how they came out. I was getting bored of that yellow varnish colour and so we made them blend in with our colour scheme and painted each a shade of grey! Yes, one is smaller than the other 3 but one of my good friends really likes that stool so we are keeping it! (And this weekend we will start work on the garden!)

Father's day is this Sunday and instead of the usual socks or cigars why don't you get your dad something that can start him off well on the Monday morning. I got my Pops some of this fine coffee roasted right here in Durban at Colombo. How cute is this little wire heart ring? Much simpler to DIY than you think... Love this new site I found too!

DIY Canvas Typography

Saw this cute idea on Pinterest and love that it is actually SO simple to DIY. {Here}

All you will need is letter cut outs so go for a font you like and choose the wording you want. As a designer I would prefer to design my own and cut them out of thin wood. 

Stick the wooden letters onto canvas with some good glue and spray paint over in white (unless you want a whole other colour but I love the white on white look). Keen to try this sometime.

Rollin Vintage {Wedding Ring}

I couldn't wait to share my husbands amazing wedding ring with the blogging world out there! And now that ir is on his finger I can do just that!! We were arbing the Essenwood fleamarket one Saturday after my birthday and Lee had said if I found something I liked I could get it for my birthday... Well this wasn't quite me gift but we passed a little stand with some interesting pieces made out of vintage knives and forks and when Lee put this ring on his finger I couldn't contain my excitement. I LOVE his ring SO much. Having budgeted on spending R1000 or so on a custom designed ring and landing up only spending R150 on this custom vintage ring made us even more set on it!
