"Hunter" Hunted

Look what I spotted at my last trip to Con Amore...
If any of you know of the brand HUNTER you know about quality and style. Con Amore now stocks these lovelies and just in time for some winter chills.
If anyone, the Brits know about cold!

Look of the day #20

So, look of the day number 20 is much more casual yet very fun and cool. This look can be paired with some  black stockings and "Tank Girl" inspired or little pixie black ankle boots for Durban winter.

Unit(e) 11

Straight after the Leigh Schubert launch at Con Amore I hit the "Cake or Death" at Unit 11. Featuring Molly and I as well as To Our Divine. What an amazing evening of great music and such good mates.
Hruki Store is the same venue as Unit 11. Hruki by day, Unit by night.
My Soldier and the artwork in the BG.
To Our Divine, Jojo and Andy the Sailor, Amz and Coke Bottles. Love Unit 11.

Leigh Schubert at Con Amore

Last Thursday we were treated again to sushi and champers at Con Amore for the launch of Leigh Schubert's range. Her range is an amazing blend of feminine flair and eclectic edge. Take a look at some of the pics from the evening.
Some of the amazing designs for the July- stylish headgear!
Amazing hostesses keeping up with everyone.
Leigh, Hubby and Baby!
Love the lace and satin duos.
My favourite item(as you can tell) was this jumpsuit. Amazing detail!
So if you are heading off to the July this weekend and are a bit late in the outfit part then head to Con Amore for headwear and an amazing design by Leigh Schubert.

Look of the day #19

I have just bought some rusty brown/red pants from the factory shop next to Shoe HQ at Stamford Hill Road and I like that I saw this picture now for some inspiration!
Image from here.
I am wearing mine today rolled at the bottom as such with a blue and white striped button up shirt(rolled sleeves) and my mom's old woven belt and my new pumps from Mr.Price which are navy blue with brown tops and heels. I LOVE IT!
So here is a pic of my do... thought I would do show you.

Mar(v)bled

Wowee to these nails... Here is how to!

Duo Dealio

After my sweet SMS from The Body Shop saying they have a deal on a NEW type of body butter - Body Butter Duo - I had to go and get them. Yes, them. Buy two for R180 (and if you're a Love Your Body cardholder then you get 20% off your purchase).

The idea behind this duo is that you use half for the areas of your skin which are dry and the other half of the body butter is for normal skin areas. I likey.

I got a Vanilla one and a Macadamia one. Sweet.

Coming soon to the Point near you...

This July on Thursday the 7th it is NIGHT MARKET time! You should come and bring people and money and stuff....
Be hungry!
But wait, there's more... Music time at the night market starts from 9pm. Thomas Krane will be there this July and if you wanna hear him play sooner then come to this event too. Stay on and enjoy the scene of Durban life! Food, music and friends. You know you're keen!

Unit 11ness!

Last night Unit 11 started the trend of awesome To Our Divine music and it is on a roll. They played an acoustic gig which was a first for the divine duo and this Saturday at Unit 11 they will rock the stage with their more usual sounds.

Catch this Cape Town fun on Saturday night. Wanna know more... go here and here.

All I can say is "I'm disco, disco dancing..."

Look of the day #17

Casanova has my heart!

So this week has been a rather unusual one. Me, who doesn't fall ill very often had a dizzy spell on Monday (which I have had a few times and thought nothing much of it). After the rest of the day at home resting I went to the clinic at Dischem to do blood sugar and blood pressure tests. The blood pressure I failed in getting 66/43 which the average is 120/80! They put me on oxygen and adrenaline ASAP and wheel chaired me out advising I spend the night in hospital to be monitored. I felt fine so went home, across the road. The next day I had to go to the doc for blood tests to see if I was anemic(not) and then yesterday I woke up with a frog in my throat so to speak and was exhausted from lack of sleeping that night. But there's an upside... After my sleep yesterday I woke up to eat some brunch and watched the Project Runway re-run. I adored the team who did the Military and Lace and this was the winning look from the team and I couldn't agree more. Casanova, you won brother.
Casanova's look is so chic and young! I love the FIT and the back of the top is amazing =)

The Gorge-ousness!

This past Sunday was a beautiful cloudless day in Durban and I was looking so forward to what we had planned... My Soldier was sharing at church and a bunch of our mates came to listen to him. If you want to you can check it out here under "Let the kid out".
After that we went to Krantzkloof Gorge for a picnic. It was so beautiful and of course I have some pics...
Some of the crew... me, Liz, Soldier and Craig!
On the path!
The view! Old Deano and Stace enjoying it!
US!
The mini waterfall we ate lunch near.
It was such a beautiful little hike and we had such a great time!

Rosabella - born out of a handbag!

At the June Night Market I decided to go hunting for great Durban entrepreneurs who I could show off to the rest of Durban. At this scouting I found Rosabella... Some of you may have seen the likes of these vintage goodies at places such as the iHeart Markets, the Night Markets and even at Essenwood Fleamarket.
Rosebella was started by Miranda Barnard, a PMB born creator. Miranda felt that Rosabella was a gift from God - the business had come at just the right time. With a passion for craft, roses, colours and textures Miranda began Rosebella in 2006 with a handbag. It was hand knitted with pure wool and felted. She added a rose embellishment and was voila... orders streamed and Rosabella was born.

Rosabella - "rosa" means roses and "bella" means beautiful in Italian.

"We pride ourselves in creating exquisite vintage pieces that will be tomorrow's treasured keepsakes." - Miranda.

Their range includes hair accessories such as fascinators for the evening, clips and headband(I own a beautiful teal blue one with three white flowers); bridal wear; handbags; hats; belts. Their homeware range include tea-cosies, cake domes, tassels and much more. If you are going to the July and are looking for something vintage and versatile then give them a call.
"Rosabella accessories are not only beautiful but there is an emphasis on being practical as well as versatile - with a brooch being able to be used as a clip or even on a lampshade when not being worn."
You can find their creations in the following places:
Lady Jane Vintage in La Lucia Mall
Damask in Hillcrest
Inky's in Gillits
Rosehurst in PMB
Glitz and Glamour in Hayfields
They will also be at the ECR House and Garden show
Or email them here.

"We want to encourage more women in our communities to express themselves through their various talents thus bringing meaning into their lives."

Thank you Miranda for your answers and for taking interest in my blog. I wish you the best with Rosabella. You are doing a great thing!

Look of the day #15

Today is my version of casual day especially seeing as yesterday was my make-believe Saturday. I am doing the all clean and casual jeans and white tee.
Image from here.
I feel that with jeans and a white tee you should pick a theme to do it with...
1. Cute - work it with pumps or sandals and a cardi.
2. Rocker - wear it with a black leather jacket and do skinnies rather than general bootleg. Do black ankle boots over skinnies.
3. Sporty - wear it with a good hoodie/jacket and some cute converse.
4. Indie - wear it with skinnies, brown ankle boots with details. Put some badges(Gen Motley) on your shirt and wear a cute flower clip in your hair. Add a cardi or good cropped leather jacket.
5. Bohemian(this is my version today) - Wear it with a long scarf(mine is browns and olive greens with purple and little gold discs on the end), some good heels or some good sandals, some awesome jewellery(I am wearing my gold cuff bracelet with long dark gold layered necklace and my big wooden ring). I have added my brown leather aviator jacket for the cold I might face in the day.

Enjoy your Friday!
